Olympia Waldorf School

Employment

What makes Olympia Waldorf School such a special workplace?

Olympia Waldorf School offers preschool through eighth grade Waldorf curriculum to approximately 135 students. Specialty classes include Eurythmy, German, gardening, Movement and Games, handwork, woodwork, Strings and Recorder. Every year we graduate a remarkable eighth grade class. Our College of Teachers was formed in 2006. I n 2007, we realized our long-held vision of opening a Kinderhaus adjacent to the school’s main campus. The Kinderhaus is home to our beloved Briar Rose and Spindlewood "Kinder Garden" classrooms.

A talented and lively administrative staff manages the daily activities of school operations and further complements our stellar faculty. Our faculty and staff are a close-knit group who continually strive for healthy interpersonal interaction. Our community is warm and dedicated and all of our families actively participate in the life of the school. The Olympia Waldorf School is deeply committed to honoring and sharing the rich cultural diversity that lives in our community.

Olympia is the capitol of the state of Washington nestled at the southern tip of Puget Sound, a large body of saltwater bays, channels, inlets and coves. The Olympic Peninsula's breathtaking rain forests, mountains, coastal beaches and parks are just an hour away. The Cascade Mountain Range stretches north to south separating temperate and desert climates is also within an hour’s drive. If you are interested in climbing, skiing, hiking, kayaking, sailing, fishing, boating or any outdoor pursuits, there is much to offer here. We are very fortunate and aware of our natural world and all that it has to offer. We are far enough to the North that we have four seasons, much daylight in the summer and plenty of darkness in the winter to draw us into our families and homes.
