9/6 @ 8:15am - 1st Grade Flower Ceremony at Welcome Assembly
Each new school year at Olympia Waldorf School begins with a Flower Ceremony. In the fall, at our welcome assembly, it is the role of the new eighth graders to present sunflowers to the budding first graders as they begin their journey through the grades. The first graders walk under the archway of their parent’s arms with quiet reverence while one by one each eighth grader presented them with a sunflower and walked the child to meet their teacher.

10/1-10/31 Arts Walk (with main events happening 10/6 and 10/7)
Open to everyone! We'll be partnering with the Olympia Bed Store and featuring "Water is Life" exploring the many elements that make up the Puget Sound, with art made by our students!

11/8 5:00pm All School Meeting and Online Auction Preview
We hope many can attend our All School Meeting this year! Board update from Jen Morey and online auction preview before the bidding begins! We will need volunteers to help break down the auction.

Date and Time TBD Lantern Walk
We will walk from Western Washington Inlet to Heritage Park Spiral (~0.6 miles), singing songs (I Go With my Little Lantern, Glimmer, lantern, Glimmer, Round and Round (for spiral walk) and Rise Up O Flame) while carrying lanterns. Cider and popcorn to follow. Learn a little more about the Lantern Walk here.

12/2 - Winter Faire
Open to everyone! Crafts, a Snow Queen, Pocket Person, gingerbread, Cookie Kingdom, Fairy Shoppe and more! This is a big event our school puts on and it takes everyone at our school to pull it together.

12/11 7:00pm - OWS Winter concert.
Students in Grades 4-8 will be performing for the school community. All are welcome!
12/15, 12/16 - Winter Spiral
An evening spiral walk will be open to the public. Details TBD.

As a community, we want to see the promotion of a healthy and safe environment through a fundraiser that is student led. Our grades and middle school students get pledges and run or walk the Fun Run. 100% of the profits donated through the Fun Run will go back to our students. Contributions from classes 1-6 will go directly to OWS Annual Fund, while funds from 7th and 8th grades will go towards their 8th-grade trip.

5/3 - Grandparents and Special Friends Day
Grandparents and special friends of current students are welcome to attend a day that showcases some of what we love about OWS. Music, performances, tours of the classes and tea! More information to be announced.

5/4 - May Faire
In many countries this day is celebrated as a traditional springtime festival. At the Olympia Waldorf School, we celebrate this day with a community gathering with flower crown making, spring crafts, May Pole dancing, food and more!
