Fairies, Gnomes, & Creatures galore!
Olympia Waldorf School’s summer camp will be held entirely in the beautiful outdoor spaces around campus. The weekly themes will rotate, giving students the opportunity to frolic with fairies, construct gnome homes, and craft creatures from clay. Summer camp days will consist of a familiar Waldorf school rhythm of in-breath and out-breath, including storytime, arts and crafts, rest, circle, and ample time for free and structured play outside. Open to current OWS families, the public, and all who are interested in joining our community.
Summer camp is offered for students ages 3-11
When: Monday-Friday, excluding holidays. 9am-3pm for the full day and 9am-12pm for half day. Extended care is also available between 8:15-9am & 3-4:30pm
9 Weeks of Summer Camp : June 15-August 14th
Themed weeks:
Cost: $375 per week for full day camp, $200 per week for half day early childhood camp, $90 for extended care hours. Toadstool Troupe (2 week sessions): $675. Limited day slots will become available June 1st.
Weather: Camp will be cancelled if the heat exceeds 100 degrees or the air quality is at or above 130 AQI.
Discounts: 10% off discount when registering for multiple weeks of camp. 10% off discount for siblings.
Refund Policy: Cancellation before/by June 1st: 50% refund. No full refunds offered. Prorated refunds will be provided for weather related cancellations.

Chanterelles (age 3-5)
Waldorf Summer Camp’s early childhood program provides a nurturing space for the child to find harmony in nature. The weekly themes will provide the opportunity for children to create connections with the magical world of fairies, gnomes, and mythical creatures through outdoor exploration and crafts. This program will be mainly held in the expansive Kinderwoods, with opportunities for nature walks, mushroom scavenger hunts, and river play. The camp follows a gentle daily rhythm, which balances structured programming and free play to foster the child’s creativity, social development, and connection to the outside world. Circle time uses waldorf folktales, movement, and fingerplays to engage the child’s sense of wonder. Activities for this program include sensory exploration, nature inspired crafts, and imaginative play.
Lions’ Manes (ages 5-7)
Waldorf Summer Camp provides children the opportunity to explore their curiosity and creativity through nature-focused activities. Rooted in Waldorf education principles, this program encourages hands-on learning, artistic expression, and rhythmic routines. Each day follows a structured yet flexible rhythm, balancing guided activities with free play in nature. Arts and crafts projects will have an emphasis on natural materials and building handwork skills through finger-knitting and weaving. Activities for this program include constructing elaborate fairy villages, gnome homes, & bug hotels as well as earth art mobiles and sailboats.
Morels (ages 7-11)
Waldorf Summer Camp encourages the child to engage with the natural world through outdoor play and nature-based art activities. Rooted in Waldorf education principles, this program encourages hands-on learning, artistic expression, and rhythmic routines. Circle and storytime make up part of the daily rhythm, which balances guided activities with free play in nature. Arts & crafts projects will have an emphasis on natural materials and building on handwork skills by knitting more ambitious projects such as a handwork bag, flute pouch, or a bearded gnome. Activities for this program include watercolor salt paintings, parachute games, and constructing wind chimes.
Toadstool Troupe - Younger (grades 1-4)
The Toadstool Troupe camp is a two week program that introduces children to the art of storytelling and theatre by putting on a play. Inspired by Waldorf education, this program emphasizes hands-on learning, movement, and artistic expression to nurture budding thespians. Each day follows a structured rhythm that balances outdoor play with theatrical programming such as painting backdrops, creating costumes, and practicing scene work. Activities for this program also include nature-based art, improvisational games, & crafting bug hotels. The last day of this program features a performance for family and community members!
Toadstool Troupe - Older (grades 5-8)
The Toadstool Troupe camp is a two week program that builds upon the child’s understanding of storytelling and theatre by putting on a play. Inspired by Waldorf education, this program emphasizes hands-on learning, movement, and artistic expression to nurture rising thespians. The structured daily rhythm balances outdoor play and theatrical programming, such as designing and creating costumes, backdrops & props for the show. Activities for this program will also include improvisational games, tending to the garden, & crafting the show’s playbill. The last day of this program features a performance for family and community members!
